How ordering works

The same five steps on every order, so nothing gets made until you have seen it.

  1. Order and pay a deposit. Choose size, quantity and backing, upload your artwork and pay 25%, 50% or 100% upfront.
  2. Free digital mockup within 6 hours. Ask for as many changes as you like.
  3. Physical sample in 2 to 3 days. We make one real patch so you can check it before the full run.
  4. Production, about 2 weeks. Starts once the sample is approved and the order is paid in full.
  5. Free shipping, about 2 weeks. You get a tracking link to follow every stage.

Hook or loop: which side you get

Hook and loop has two halves. The hook side is the stiff, scratchy side, and the loop side is the soft, fuzzy side. Our Velcro patches come with the hook side sewn to the back, because tactical gear, plate carriers, packs, caps and uniforms carry loop panels for patches to stick to.

If your jacket or bag has no loop panel, you need a piece of loop fabric sewn on first. Ask us about loop pieces when you order and we will quote them with your patches.

Sizes for plate carriers, hats and bags

Where it goesCommon patch size
Plate carrier front loop panel3 x 2 in, 4 x 3 in, or a name tape
Name or call sign tapeAbout 4 to 5 x 1 in
Flag patchAbout 3.5 x 2 in
Tactical cap front2 to 3 in wide, up to 2 in tall
Backpack or range bag panel3 x 2 in to 4 x 3 in
Shoulder or sleeve loop panelAbout 3 x 3.5 in

Measure your loop panel before you order and leave a little loop showing around the patch. Our printable patch size chart has actual-size rectangles you can hold against your gear.

PVC or embroidered for Velcro patches

PVC is the most popular choice for Velcro patches. It is waterproof, wipes clean and keeps its shape after being pulled off and pressed on hundreds of times, so it suits plate carriers, range bags and outdoor gear. Embroidered Velcro patches give the classic stitched look for unit, team and uniform patches. For full-color art, choose UV + PVC.

Military and mil-spec hook and loop

Our standard hook backing is a durable, sewn-on hook tape that grips the loop panels used on uniforms, plate carriers and tactical gear. If your unit or contract requires tape certified to a particular military or government specification, tell us before you order and we will confirm what we can supply on your quote. We do not claim certification we cannot document.

Need subdued colors such as tan, olive, coyote or black? They cost the same as any other colors.

Caring for Velcro patches

Press the patch on firmly so the hook fully engages the loop. Before washing a uniform, close or cover the hook side so it does not snag other clothes. Clean PVC patches with water and a soft brush.

Questions

Anything else? Message us on WhatsApp or use the contact page.

Which side of the Velcro is on the patch?

The hook side. It sticks to loop panels on tactical gear, bags, hats and uniforms.

How much does Velcro backing cost?

It is a small charge per patch on top of the patch price. The quote page shows the exact total for your order.

Which patch type works best with Velcro?

PVC, because it is waterproof and tough. Embroidered, woven and UV + PVC patches can all have Velcro too.

What is the minimum order?

25 patches per design. Price per patch drops as the quantity goes up.

How long does an order take?

About 4 to 5 weeks in total: mockup within 6 hours, a physical sample in 2 to 3 days, about 2 weeks of production, then about 2 weeks of shipping.

Do you make Velcro patches for plate carriers?

Yes. We make PVC and embroidered patches with hook backing that fit plate carrier loop panels, in common sizes like 3 x 2 and 4 x 3 inches, from 25 pieces per design.

What is a custom hook and loop patch?

A patch made from your design with the hook side of hook and loop (Velcro) sewn to the back, so you can press it onto any loop panel and swap it whenever you like.

Is the loop side included?

The patch comes with the hook side. Most gear already has loop panels. If yours does not, ask us about loop pieces and we will quote them with your order.
