What are woven patches?
Woven patches are made on a loom with fine thread, woven flat and tight. Because the thread is much thinner than embroidery thread, woven patches hold small text, thin lines and detailed artwork that embroidery cannot.
The result is a smooth, flat patch that is thinner and lighter than an embroidered one. Woven patches have less raised texture, so if you want the bold, stitched look, embroidery is the better pick. If you want detail, woven wins.

- Production, about 2 weeks. Starts once the sample is approved and the order is paid in full.
- Free shipping, about 2 weeks. You get a tracking link to follow every stage.
How woven patches are made
Woven patches are made on a loom that weaves fine thread into your design, the same way clothing labels are made. Because the thread is much thinner than embroidery thread and the weave is tight and flat, small text, thin lines and detailed artwork stay sharp. The finished patch is thin, light and smooth, with a merrowed (rolled stitch) edge or a clean heat-cut edge that can follow the outline of your design.

Woven patches for clothing brands and merch
Woven patches are a favorite with clothing brands because they look clean and premium on hats, hoodies, jackets and bags, and they hold a small logo or wordmark without losing detail. Design tips for woven patches
- Small text works. Woven holds lettering down to about 1/8 inch (3 mm) tall, much smaller than embroidery.
- Solid colors, not photos. Woven uses thread colors, so it suits logos, crests and line art. For photos or soft shading, choose sublimated.
- Want raised texture? Woven is flat. For the raised, stitched look, choose embroidered.

What is the difference between woven and embroidered patches?
Woven patches use thinner thread woven flat, so they hold fine detail and small text and feel smooth. Embroidered patches use thicker thread stitched on top of a base, so they have raised texture but less fine detail.
What is the minimum order for custom woven patches?
The minimum is 25 patches. The price per patch drops as the quantity goes up.
How much do custom woven patches cost?

Most orders take about 4 to 5 weeks from order to delivery: a free digital mockup within 6 hours, a physical sample in 2 to 3 days, about 2 weeks of production after you approve the sample, then about 2 weeks of shipping.
Are woven patches thinner than embroidered patches?
Yes. Woven patches are thin, flat and light, while embroidered patches are thicker with raised thread. That makes woven a good choice for caps, collars and light fabric.
Can woven patches be ironed on?
Yes. Because they are thin and flat, woven patches press on evenly with iron-on backing. For anything washed often, add a few stitches around the edge.
What is the smallest text a woven patch can hold?
About 1/8 inch (3 mm) tall, which is roughly half the minimum for embroidery.
