The four things that set the price
- Quantity. The biggest factor. Set-up work is shared across the whole run, so more patches means a lower price per patch.
- Size. Bigger patches use more thread or material and take longer to make.
- Patch type. Embroidered, woven, sublimated, PVC and UV + PVC are made differently and priced slightly differently.
- Backing. Sew-on is included. Iron-on adds $0.15 per patch and Velcro adds $0.56 per patch.
The number of colors does not change our price. Custom shapes and patches over 5 inches are quoted by hand.

The jump from 25 to 50 pieces saves the most per patch. If you need 30 or 40 patches, check the price at 50: the total is often only a little higher, and you get spares.

How to get the best price
- Order more at once. The price per patch falls sharply as quantity rises, so if you will reorder anyway, the larger run now usually works out cheaper.
- Go down a size if the design allows. A clean logo at 2.5 to 3 inches reads well and costs less than 4 or 5 inches.
- Pick the type for the design. Woven is often the lowest price for detailed logos. See embroidered vs woven vs PVC.
- Choose sew-on if you can. It is included and the most secure. Our backing guide explains when iron-on or Velcro is worth it.
- Check the next quantity up. At checkout, Legion Patches shows you when adding a few more patches lowers your price per patch.
Why patch prices vary between sellers
If you compare quotes, you will see a wide range of prices for what looks like the same patch. A few things explain most of the difference.
- What is included. Some sellers quote a low per-patch price, then add set-up fees, digitizing fees, sample fees or shipping. Others, like Legion Patches, include these in the price per patch.
- Whether you get a sample. A physical sample before production costs the maker time, but it is the best protection against receiving a full order that is not right.
- How size is measured. Sellers measure size differently, so a “3 inch” patch from two shops may not be the same size. Compare by the actual dimensions.
- Coverage and detail. Some sellers charge more for a fully stitched background or for many thread colors. Our price does not change with the number of colors.
- Minimum order. Shops with very low minimums often charge much more per patch on small runs.
The fairest comparison is the total delivered price for the same type, size, quantity and backing, with the extras you actually need.
When you need a custom quote
The instant prices above cover the five patch types at 2 to 5 inches, from 25 pieces, with sew-on, iron-on or Velcro backing. Some orders are priced by hand instead:
- Patches larger than 5 inches, such as jacket and vest back patches.
- Unusual shapes cut to the outline of a logo.
- Orders that mix many versions, such as a set of patches with a different name on each.

Paying for your order
You do not have to pay the full amount upfront. Choose a 25%, 50% or 100% payment at checkout. Your mockup can be approved once at least 25% is paid, and production starts once the order is paid in full, usually right after you approve the physical sample. Common mistakes
- Comparing per-patch prices without the extras. Some sellers charge separately for set-up, samples or shipping. Compare the total delivered price.
- Ordering exactly the number you need. A few spares cost little and cover new members, losses and mistakes.
- Choosing a bigger size than needed. Bigger is not always better. Check the size at real scale first.
- Splitting one design into small orders. Two orders of 50 cost more than one order of 100.
- Paying for Velcro on clothes without loop panels. The patch has nothing to stick to.
