Embroidered vs. Woven, Side by Side

Both are stitched. The difference is in how fine a line each one can hold, and how the surface feels.

Texture and look

Embroidered patches use thicker thread built up into a raised, textured surface. Woven patches use finer thread woven flat, closer to a printed label than a stitched one.

Detail and small text

Woven wins clearly here — it can hold small text and fine outlines that embroidery physically can’t reproduce.

Which one fits your design

  • Bold logos or text at 2″ or larger — embroidered.
  • Dense crests or fine detail — woven.
